Oshri

Oshri is an Israeli-born, South African-raised pop singer, songwriter and performer whose international career has been shaped by his distinctive blend of contemporary pop, R&B and dance music. Born near Tel Aviv, Israel, he spent much of his youth in South Africa, where he developed a deep appreciation for the country's rich musical landscape while honing his craft as a vocalist and songwriter. Influenced by his diverse cultural heritage, which includes both French and Middle Eastern roots, Oshri has developed a musical style that combines infectious pop melodies with soulful vocals and global influences, allowing him to connect with audiences across continents.

His breakthrough came after winning the inaugural TRACE Music Stars South Africa competition, a televised talent search mentored by acclaimed musician Wyclef Jean. The victory opened the door to an international career, leading Oshri to relocate to New York City, where he worked closely with Wyclef while developing his artistry and expanding his songwriting. In 2015, he performed at the TRACE Urban Music Awards in Paris, where he caught the attention of global superstar Akon, who signed him to his label, Konvict Muzik. Although the partnership was relatively short-lived, it provided invaluable international exposure before Oshri chose to pursue his career as an independent artist.

Oshri has released a growing catalogue of pop singles, including Bad Reputation, Crazy But Free, Too Much, Focused and I Want It All. His collaboration with South African singer Jimmy Nevis on Bad Reputation further strengthened his ties to the local music industry, while his music has earned international radio play and a place on the Billboard Top 40 Dance Chart. Throughout his career, he has worked with artists and producers including Wyclef Jean, Akon, Jimmy Nevis and Grammy-nominated songwriter Mike Campbell, continuing to build a reputation as an artist with global ambitions.

Today, Oshri continues to record and perform internationally as an independent artist, creating music that reflects resilience, optimism and personal authenticity. His journey from winning a South African television competition to sharing the global stage with internationally recognised artists demonstrates both his determination and versatility.
