Delta The Leo

Delta Choshi was born in the village of Vaalkop in rural Limpopo, and the distance between that quiet beginning and the stages she has since commanded tells you everything you need to know about her drive. She grew up to become one of South Africa's most genuinely multi-disciplinary performing artists, shaped equally by her Limpopo roots and by the streets of Alexandra Township in Johannesburg, where she is based and where much of her artistic identity was forged.

She is, first and foremost, a dancer of extraordinary ability. Entirely self-taught, she has claimed the title of World Dance Champion three times over, a remarkable achievement for any artist and a testament to her discipline and raw talent. As a choreographer she has worked alongside some of the biggest names in South African music and entertainment, creating movement for Black Coffee, Thembi Seete and Heavy K, and performing on stages as far-reaching as Big Brother Africa and the FIFA World Cup and Confederations Cup.

As a recording artist she refuses to be contained by genre. Hip-hop, trap, rhythm and blues, dancehall and more recently Sepedi gqom have all fallen within her range, and her collaborations reflect the breadth of her creative world. She has worked alongside the late South African hip hop pioneer HHP, Kenyan rapper Wangechi, American musician Nyelle Thebes, Kevin Provoke, Gino Brown and the Deceptikonz. She has also performed for brands including Converse and Nike Jordan Kids, demonstrating a commercial appeal that extends well beyond music.

In her most recent chapter, Delta has returned deliberately and meaningfully to her Limpopo origins. Her collaboration with acclaimed Venda producer and vocalist TallexQ on the Lekompo single A Hi Fambeni, released in 2025. Her latest single Nobody was released in 2026, and she continues to be prolific, dropping hit after hot.
